  1. By the way that is a fuel shut off solenoid, not "electric carburation
    adjustment".?

  2. Btw that is a fuel pump, not a fuel distributor. The line going to the
valves is the impulse uses crankcase pressure to pump fuel. ?

  3. i´ve gotta say, thats an awesome little bugger, we had the older version
    andnever had problems with it!!!
it was really fun to drive, the hydrostat is great!
now we have some more stuff to mow so we bought a brandnew x758 lawn
    mower!!!!!
it is amazing to drive, 4wd and some great hydraulic stuff going on there
if you want a large scale mower to work with, get your hands on the x700
    series!!!!?

  4. The handles are for when you are on a hill, you hold on to the handles so
you don't fall off the tractor, and distribute the weight.?

  5. nice tractor but that motor has weak rods?

  6. Go get a SCAG then come talk to me. When do you ever see major landscaping
companies using a John Deere Mower. Lets just leave it at John Deere is not
professional neither a good brand of lawn equipment. ?

  9. I think those handles are for when you are mowing on a hill you have
    something to hold on to?

  10. I have an L110. Without a locking diff, on wet hillsides, one of the tires
will slip, as the other comes to a stop, I have to rock the lawnmower to
the side of the spinning tire to give it traction. I would rather have a
differential lock, but my method works. And having handles would be nice to
help me rock the mower, so the handles might be a cheaper alternative to
    differential locking!?

  11. To all you guys who keep commenting on how this mower is junk and are
bashing JD...the 100 series were designed by JD in order to enter the
consumer market and compete with the cheap entry level brands like
Craftsman, Murray, and all the other mowers you buy at Walmart, Sears, Home
Depot, and Lowes. Obviously they are not a top-quality mower. They don't
have hydraulic lift, power steering, shaft drives, or any of that. They are
sold for up to 3 grand just for people who have a postage stamp yard and
mow their lawn once every couple weeks. If you're putting such a small
amount of hours on your machine or you don't have any extra uses for the
advanced equipment, you buy one of these. That's fine. But if you have
several acres and you till a garden or do a lot of snow removal, etc, you
need to expand and buy a GARDEN TRACTOR. They are much sturdier built and
will last 20-30 years before needing any major work. Don't buy a cheap end
piece of equipment if you have big plans. Most of you guys don't seem to
know that and you like to think that ALL the John Deere's they make now are
junk. No they don't have metal hoods and cast iron engines like they used
to, but the higher end ones are still heavy duty machines. You get what you
pay for. I know this kid personally and I just happen to have an LA150
which is the older version of the D170. We are both having issues with our
tractors now. They last maybe 10 years at the most. And our tractors are
only a few years old. You get what you pay for, people. I suggest you stop
bashing the cheap end JD mowers and actually buy yourself a half decent
John Deere garden tractor if you want something that will last. Just
because ONE or TWO little lawn tractors are cheap and unreliable doesn't
mean ALL John Deere's are that way. Come on people.?

  12. I just noticed you in the video. Are you any relation to Pee Wee Herman?
    Striking resemblance. ?

  13. im sorry ok i do lawn mowers that do not have air cooled that are water
    cooled?

  14. The side handles are for holding onto when you are cutting on an angled
surface. It helps you maintain balance on the john Deere when cutting your
    grass.?

    ReplyDelete
  15. those handles are for drivng on a steep slope to holdon so you do not slide
    off the seat?

  16. Thanks Michael, your video was very informative. ?

  17. these are junky. JD really should not have put out such junk but I guess
with the sacked economy they had to produce what people could afford and
still make their normal killing. I bought a Cub Cadet mid range rider and
it has lasted 7 years now starting on 8 and I have not done any major work
at all on the mower. I replaced one fuse and the blades have only been
sharpened never replaced. The primary belts last a long time, really
surprised me with the automatic PTO. The Drive Belt has never been
changed. I put tubes in the tires when the Tractor was new and the tires
are original. I have to stay after bolts and keep them tight because with
all mowers there is vibration but it is comfortable to drive and mow. I
mow over an acre with it and it is only used for my personal property. I
would have to recommend a Cub Cadet with my personal experience if you were
not going to spend 5000 or more dollars. My honest opinions I don't work
    or sale Cub Cadets.?

  19. The handles are called (at least someone said this) "OH SHOOT" handles, for
if you are mowing (or kidding) on a steep hill.?

  20. Not to hate but thease are junk. All they are is mtd with jd name on it, I
    have a 1979 317 it's a true tractor, ?
