You've had this a full season. Would you recommend it?
ReplyDeleteyes and i have done it before too. and never did i say once that you didn
ReplyDeletenot know what you were doing or that you were stupid. and what exacally do
you think commetial blades are? they are the exact same blades as
residential, but ground farther twards the center.
sears started offering these cheaply made inferior mowers a couple years
ReplyDeleteago. sears lower end mowers are made by a different company then the higher
end mowers. you dont wont to buy one like this, belts fall off all the
time, front axels fail. your better off to spend $100 more and buy the
higher end.
Nice !
ReplyDeletethe LTS/LT series are made by MTD, the YT/YTS and up are made by Husqvarna
ReplyDeleteOutdoor Products. Riders,Tillers,Snow Throwers and as of 2010, z-turns are
made in Orangeburg,SC, HOP Push mowers McRae,GA. MTD is made somewhere in
Tennessee.
you can disconnect a wire and then you can mow in reverse
ReplyDeletegood luck with that engine
ReplyDeleteAs someone stated before, this is a MTD mower with a Craftsman badge on it.
ReplyDeleteAs long as Sears is willing to stand behind it with a service contract, go
for it. Otherwise, you can get the same thing at TSC, Lowe's, Home Depot,
etc. and maybe save $100. If maintained properly and sensibly operated by
an adult, it will last 10 years, 15 if you put some work into it. In my
experience, the cutter deck is usually the weakness. I just retired a 1999
MTD mower, and I'm getting a Craftsman YT.
if you grind down the edges of a mower blade, it will throw the blade out
ReplyDeleteof balance thus vibrating and tearing up expensive parts.
Should have bought the YT mower. Only about 10% more cost, but FAR superior
ReplyDeleteproduct. Turn tight front end, beefier deck, mows in reverse and more
powerful engine.
the first thing i would do to that is grind the blades cutting edge down
ReplyDeleteanother 2-3 inches twards the center or get some commercial blades. i got
some commercial blades for my tractors and i can fly when im mowing and not
miss a single blade of grasss. but when the lawn is green i have to use a
lower speed
Craftsman had MTD written all over it.That's the problem.MTD does a
ReplyDeletehorrible design of mowers.Wait till you have to do your own repairs!?
Lol my craftsman is 18 years old she still purrs ?
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why it won't mow in reverse... isn't your ignition key a
ReplyDelete4 position key like every other mower? Key position from left to Right...
OFF-MOW REV-RUN-START... are you starting the mower (much like a car) and
not turning the key to the left one click before off? It's the position
with the symbol of 2 tracks and an arrow pointing to the rear... If you
leave the key in the start position, the ignition interrupter will cause
the mower to stall when trying to reverse with the attachment engaged.Turn
key to the left one more position... should mow/snowblow/whatever in
reverse without issue.?
would mow in revers you unplug that yellow wire there at shifter, >.> think
ReplyDeletemuch?! look at the obvious, before you judge they design for the dumb
people!?
My MTD is 38 years old and she still works ?
ReplyDeleteIs this you multitracking the Music yourself? Interesting...?
ReplyDeleteBlack is probably the worst color for a mower!?
ReplyDeleteHope your still happy with yours mine the transmission keeps failing so I'm
ReplyDeletegetting it replaced again for the second time in a row ?
Black = hot hot hot hot hot hot hot hot?
