Review - Ariens 42 in. 17.5 HP 6-Speed Riding Lawn Mower
The traffic in front of my house makes it a little difficult to hear me from time to time, but you can make out most of it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this. I've been debating
ReplyDeleteabout this for weeks and my biggest hesitation has been whether this could
climb any grade. Seeing you take that load of compost up those hills
without hearing the engine labor and it maintains traction. Like your
dump-trailer, too. I hope it keeps working hard for you so you don't have
to. Thanks again for this very helpful video.?
To change gear you don't have to put the clutch in all the way half clutch
ReplyDeleteand full clutch is you're brake you start in 1 or 2nd and then work you're
way up with half clutch it works easyer?
I have this model and I am very pleased with it. The engine is very
ReplyDeletepowerful and I like the safety features . I prefer the gear box over the
hydrostatic model because I can put my feet flat on the floor boards
instead of maintaining a constant pedal position. Just set the throttle and
select a speed , then sit back and steer. I am over 6 feet tall and have
plenty of leg room as well.?
Thanks for the good review. I have the next model up with the automatic
ReplyDeletetransmission. It can get uncomfortable keeping constant pressure on the
forward pedal all the while you're rolling. I've gotten used to it but the
6 speed transmission might be a better choice for some folks because of
this.?
when I start my lawn mower, oil is blower out and have big smoke come out.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any idea what i did wrong to the mower? I measured the oil
and seems like I did a little over filled it as well. ?
I have this same mower as well and have enjoyed it. When I bought mine,
ReplyDeleteHome Depot had a special "blades for life" program so you go on line and
register. Every year you go online and click a button and they send you a
set of mowing blades which saves you about $50 bucks a year and you always
have new blades. The only down side I have found for this mower is that it
does not cut an even cut especially when turning. I have thick grass so you
can see it cuts uneven. I am a perfectionist and love my lawn looking good
so I notice these things. I had to go online and purchase "anit-scalping
wheels" to attach to the deck to help level it when you cut on the low
settings. This helped some but they only had the wheels that attach to the
back of the deck, and it needs one that attaches to the front of the deck
to make it totally level. I have not found one yet that attaches to the
front so it stills mows a little off level. Besides that, I am more than
pleased and think you will enjoy this mower. At the price you pay, you cant
beat it. ?
The reason for the small amount of weight you can pull is because the
ReplyDeletetransmission is belt drivin. When you try to pull something too heavy it
will cause the belt to slip on the pully which creates friction and burns
the belt. By pushing the pedal in you release the tension from the belt
which lifts the belt slightly off the pully allowing it to turn freely.?
To be truth with you all ride on mowers these days are all copies of the
ReplyDeleteexpensive mowers it's just the name for example I have a rally 12.5 Briggs
with a 36 inch cut 6 speed box and it is a copie of the Husqvarna ct151 and
many people have told me that they would rather have my rally so the
cheaper the better because if you're mower could break down at least you
won't have to worry about it so $1000 in you're country is about £690 now
that's cheap ?
rhodri herbert, you have replies disabled, so I can only put in a fresh
ReplyDeletecomment. I don't know about other machines, but on mine, the distance
between brake on and clutch engaged would be measured in millimeters.
There's no way I could push the clutch down to that exact spot while
bumping around my lawn.?
