tools in action lol i wish the two tools in this vid knew what the fuck
ReplyDeletethey were talking about
Hey guys. How would you feel this compares to the the TB Pony in terms of
ReplyDeleteoverall? The MSRPs are nearly the same, but differ greatly.
I have never used a snapper, this is for sure a quality machine
ReplyDeleteI used to own a JD R75 the grandfather of these new little mowers...30"
ReplyDeletedeck and a 8hp briggs...chain drive...much better constructed then the new
pos machines that are out today,,,but took me hours to mow....lol....got a?
52" Craftsman 26hp mower now...wouldn't trade it for any pos made today!!!!!
Oh, one big improvement in the 2013 models. It DOES finally have the
ReplyDeletemow-in-reverse key position ! No more disengaging the PTO before backing up!
rear engine rider
ReplyDeleteSweeet ride!
ReplyDeleteafter all the trouble ive had with troy bilt weed eaters .. i will never
ReplyDeletebuy a mower from them.
A couple of notes... The 2013 model no longer has the adjustable steering
ReplyDeletewheel or the swivel seat. I guess MTD is into de-contenting this year :(
However it does come with the Mulch Plug standard now. I just bought one,
and it mows great. I like it. The adjustable steering would have been nice,
but I can live with it. If I had one gripe it's the location of the F-N-R
lever. I'm a big, strong guy and I find maneuvering this lever far more
difficult than it should be
There have been allot of complaints of the reverse and the backing up
ReplyDeletefeature. Can you back up with the blades going? Is it difficult to do this
process?
Snappers never die! At first, I was a little iffy about the disc drive, but
ReplyDeleteso far it has not slipped. When you put it in first, second, third, fourth
or fifth gear, it jerks you. It was kind of fun lol.
We wish we did to

The forward/reverse shifter is very awkward to reach down between you legs
ReplyDelete!!?
owned 2 rear engine mowers over the last 40 years and i had only one
ReplyDeletecomplant, rear wheels would not get traction on a small hill, figured it was
a center of gravity problem, hope they solved it..own a troy bilt pony front
engine and does great, hard to get used to..lol?
No front bumper.....Craftsman (Sister) has a bumper on the front .....?
ReplyDeleteWish my yard was big enough to need a ride on mower... ?
ReplyDeleteI extended my shift lever 3" which made all the difference !!!?
ReplyDeleteNo gauge wheels on the deck...If you have a rise in your lawn it will gouge
ReplyDelete!! I welded a three inch extension onto the shifter and re-installed the
knob, Now much better !!?
I have a few five foot slopes that are someone steep. Is this an option??
ReplyDeleteIn three years I've had to put mine in the shop 4 times to get the blade
ReplyDeletedrive belt readjusted.?
looks small
ReplyDeleteI'm 6'3 ?
snappers are designed to were you only use the clutch when going to go
ReplyDeletebackwards and to go in to 1st gear. its design to were when in first just
move the lever forward to speed up and back to slow down.?
just was at lowes and the seat is different and does not spin.also, the
ReplyDeleteswitch has a position to run blades in reverse and the steering column has
no up down adjustment.Went to sears and their similar model has what yours
has as far as adjustment on column and no reverse cut operation.?
